Instead of the ash and steel tones of her Edvard Munch-inspired fall collection, Carolina Herrera chose the bright, polychromatic hues of watercolorist Jeremiah Goodman for spring 2008. Typical of Herrera, her show was one of classic sophistication. She subtly layered various textures and juxtaposed different shapes, like big balloon skirts and crisp shorts, to create playful silhouettes. Nods to spring trends included floral prints that were girly but elegant, sashes tied in bows at the waist, and a polka dot appliqué on a pencil skirt.
