Editors' Ten

our not-yet-broken new year's resolutions

PrintPrint

In the (quite likely in vain) spirit of new beginnings, a new batch of Eye editors offers its resolutions in the hopes that the year and decade get off to a fresh start...

1. Keep my room livable: Coming back from winter break, I realized that my room was so crowded that I could not functionally walk from one end to the other. And I should probably fix my blinds with something other than copious amounts of duct tape.
-Jason Bell, Food and Drink Editor

2. Limit my frozen yogurt intake to less than once a day: It’s healthy, but it’s not that healthy.
-Allison Malecha, Style Editor

3. Call the “Diana Center” by its proper name: Er, you guys know what I mean.
-Maggie Penman, Eyesites Editor

4. Watch less television: I cut out Fringe, now just five more shows until I’m down to seven.
-Logan Hofstein, TV Editor

5. Actually read my copies of the New Yorker, not just look at the cartoons.
–Claire Fu, Books Editor

6. Less Chipotle: I can only justify fajitas and guacamole as my “daily serving of vegetables” so many days in a row.
-Devin Briski, Managing Editor, Features

7. Eat more kale.
–Angela Ruggierro-Corliss, Music Editor

8. Go places I’ve never been: anywhere from Buenos Aires to a Columbia football game counts for me. Brooklyn Bridge and the Cloisters are at the top of my list.
-Helen Werbe, Editor-in-Chief

9. Eat less candy: just because Haribo gummies taste better than vegetables and spaghetti, doesn’t mean they qualify as dinner.
-Daryl Seitchik, View From Here Editor

10. Stop saying OMG: It started as a joke, but now I can’t stop. And no more “that’s what she said” out loud in class.
-Sarah Lipman, Deputy Visuals Editor
