Things Columbia Students Like

culturally relevant halloween costumes

While this may be true of any intelligent, socially aware group of individuals, Columbians take culturally relevant Halloween costumes to a whole new level. Last year on campus, there were Sarah Palins and Jokers galore. This year, we anticipate seeing a lot of Wild Things unless someone can figure out how to dress up like health care reform.

Campus Favorite: World leaders (especially if they’re controversial)

Among other groups of young people, the mention of Ahmadinejad will most likely prompt someone to say bless you. On this campus, however, his is a household name. Every year the excitement generated by the World Leaders Forum would make one think it is a conference of rock stars. Controversial leaders allow conservatives and über-liberals alike to unite in their rightful outrage.
