Editors' Ten

what we're into this week

PrintPrint

1. “Toonces, the Driving Cat”: This is a recurring SNL sketch from the Dana Carvey era about a cat who can drive a car. Every installment ends with the same stock footage of a car plummeting over a cliff and bursting into flames.
—Hillary Busis, Managing A&E Editor

2. The Score to Slumdog Millionaire: I’ve been so busy lately that I didn’t get a chance to see Slumdog until my roommate dragged me to the cinema this weekend. I loved the film, but it’s the soundtrack that really blew me away.
—Helen Werbe, Style Editor

3. The rise and subsequent fall of Judd Gregg: The once-future commerce secretary has two names that end with double letters. Also, he despises everything Barack Obama stands for, so it’s probably for the best that he’s staying on Capitol Hill.
—Raphael Pope-Sussman, Deputy Features Editor

4. The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Chelsea Clearview Cinema runs a midnight screening with a full cast and props (toast, anyone?) weekly. If you’re willing to leave your insecurities and moral indignation at home, it’s money well spent.
—Melanie Jones, Managing Features Editor

5. Running at night: Afterward, you’re in the perfect tired mood for reading, or whatever boring thing you were supposed to be doing instead of running.
—Thomas Rhiel, Editor-in-Chief

6. Bale-Out: Christian Bale’s freak-out on the set of Terminator Salvation has spawned a number of parodies and techno remixes. Suffice to say, Mr. Bale and I are done professionally.
—Peter Labuza, Film Editor

7. Hanging up newly printed photos all over my walls: They make me smile.
—Ruthie Fierberg, Theater Editor

8. Absolutely Fabulous: The best British comedy series ever made. It is THE original Sex and the City, but with more booze and drugs. And less responsibility.
—Carla Vass, Eyesites Editor

9. Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man: My boyfriend took me to this restaurant, which specializes in chocolate, for Valentine’s Day. The menu is overwhelming—you can order chocolate for every course!
—Meredith Perry, Senior Design Editor

10. CU Food For Thought: Until Sunday, the MSA and other campus organizations are delivering food to the dorms and Butler, and donating profits to the Disasters Emergency Relief Charity. Now I can put my laziness to good use!
—Christine Jordan, TV Editor
